The Fourth Commandment

The Fourth Commandment

In the Beginning

There was a formless substance called earth and a substance called the deep which was water.

And the SPIRIT of GOD was hovering over the surface of the water.

And God said, Let there be light! And He saw that is was good, so he separated the light from the

darkness.  Light makes us aware of darkness!  The light was called day, the darkness was called night,

There was evening and morning. Day one. ( To this day in Israel, and amongest Jewish people , we follow this precept, that is why Friday evening is the begging of the Sabbath, Shabbat and it ends after sunset on Shabbat day.)

Then God separated the water, he created a space between the deep, the sky (air) above and created

liquid water below. Day two.

Then God said, let the water under the sky be collected up so the earth can be exposed, so the water

and the earth where separated. The earth was called land and the water He called seas.

Then God said, Let the land produce Vegetation, seed bearing plants and trees. Day three.

Then God said, Let there be lights is the sky to Separate the day form the night. And let them serve as signs to mark seasons, days, and years {Clock and calendar} Day four.

Then God said, let the water be filled with living creatures and let birds fly above the earth. So, God created every creature in the seas and every bird that flies in the expanse of the sky, and he blessed them and said to be fruitful and multiply. The fifth day.

Then God said, let the land produce living creatures, that move along the ground, He made wild animals and livestock animals.  And God said, let US (?) make man in OUR (?) image. God gave them the earth to rule over it and take care of it, and He gave every seed bearing plant and tree that has seed in it as food. The sixth day.  God created a special place on the earth where he created Adam and Eve, this place was called Eden, in this garden God also placed two special trees, The Tree of Life, and the Tree of knowledge of good and evil. God gave his first commandment there.  He told them to not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and he also told them what would happen if they did, He said you will surely die!  Adam and Eve had eternal life as long as they obeyed God’s one rule.

*****Then God saw that the heavens and the earth were complete, so He rested from creating, and He blessed the Seventh day and He made it HOLY, because His work was completed. The Sabbath.********( This was not a Jewish thing! Jews and Judaism didn’t exist yet!

God and man enjoyed a time of fellowship face to face in the Garden of Eden ( as we will once again for eternity)

Time passes, Lucifer, a most beautiful angel, is filled with jealousy. He wants to be like god and he leads one third of the angels into a rebellion against God.  Revelation 12:3-9, Hebrews 12:22, Revelation9:1, Isaiah 14:12, Luke 10:18

Satan, Lucifer (The first extra-terrestrial) appears to Eve in the garden of Eden, and he persuades her to doubt what God has said, and disobey Him, and she also causes Adam to join in, then when God asks what has happened, Eve tells him the devil made me do it! And Adam blames God for giving him a wife. These are all things humans do even to this day…. All sin. God MUST fulfill his word, so He sends Adam and Eve out of eternal life and into an unprotected world where you must work and suffer and feel pain and death. But God is a just God. He gives us rules to live by out here on earth so we can still have peace and health and success and be fruitful. Our sin nature causes many to do as they please in order to feel fulfilled just like eve did. And after God gave Moses the Law so he could teach his people to have a life filled with goodness He still had to give them a way to forgive sin which was very bloody and ugly. In the beginning God taught us there is light and darkness, there is good and evil, there is life and death, there is eternal life and eternal separation from God.

Genesis 6:2 hundreds of years later, but before the Flood, the sons of god (fallen angels) saw that the daughters of men were beautiful. So fallen angels and humans, against Gods will created a new species called the Nephilim from the Hebrew word naphal, meaning fallen, the fallen ones…Genesis 6:4 they were the heroes of old, men of renown. (Possibly the Greek and roman gods) After the flood and many more hundreds of years pass, we have Sodom and Gomorrah, God destroys this too…  more year’s pass, God promises Abraham to give Him a son and Abraham will become a father of many nations thru him. But even Abraham fails, and listens to Sarah and they beget Ishmael first, the son of the flesh, 13 years later Isaac is born the son of the promise. Many more years pass, with much trouble and despair, but God is there through it all with those who believe in Him. God speaks to Moses, the Israelites are freed from Egypt, the Passover is a symbol of the new covenant God will make with humanity, based on Jeremiahs prophecy in 31:31.  Moses receives the 10 commandments, the fourth one is REMEMBER THE SABBATH by keeping it holy (sanctified, separate) He also gives them many statutes, and other rules.

Numbers 21:4 a serious lesson on Faith!  While in the desert the people complained and whines about everything! One day God sent a plague of vipers to bite the people, and many died. The people asked Moses to ask God to take the snakes away because they knew they had spoken against God

God told Moses to make a bronze snake and put it up on a pole, and anyone who had been bitten if they looked upon that bronze snake would be saved, an act of faith and obedience would give your life!

Deuteronomy 4:32

The Lord is God. Read it for yourselves

Finally, all the Law decrees, covenants etc. had been given, and another two thousand years go by,

Most people continue to go their own way doing whatever they please, hurting, stealing, killing etc.

Two thousand plus years ago a child was born of very different methods….

God created a body for the Messiah to inhabit. We read in this Psalm 40:6 That sacrifice and offering He does not require, but an open ear to HEAR! Hebrews 10:5 says the same thing but, it adds, but a body thou hast prepared for me!!!

God thru His messiah Yeshua’s miraculous birth and death has given us the ultimate solution to combat our sin nature and crucify our fleshly desires to do as we please, and instead live to please Him.

God knows it is impossible for us to be fully obedient and follow all His all of his commandments and decrees and such. We can’t even Love the Lord thy God with ALL your Mind Heart and strength.

By birth we inherit the sin of the first man Adam. Our only hope to return to that place of peace and fellowship with God is thru being born again thru Yeshua, the first one to rise from the dead!  We do not have to be perfect, we need only to be humble, and put Him first, then He will give us everything we need to be at peace, filled with joy and satisfied and blessed beyond anything you can imagine! We can enter into a Sabbath rest with Him as soon as we obey him! Acknowledge  your sin, submit to His rule over your life, ask Him to come into your heart and make it new, Confess with your mouth that He is Lord, and believe in your heart that he has risen from the dead!

 Remember!

The Sabbath was created on the 7th day of creation. It existed before the Israelites and before Judaism.

It existed before “The Law”

The Sabbath was created at the end of creation to represent what is coming at the end of the age.

We will stand in the presence of God, face to face and have fellowship with Him, when all has passed, and God establishes His kingdom once again for all of eternity.

The Sabbath is very important to God. He says in His word, In Genesis 2:1-2 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.

The Bible contains 81 verses on Shabbat.
