Why should the church pray for Israel?

Why should the Church pray for Israel ?

I recently did a video on this topic in Spanish. Several requests were made for this to be done in English!

I don’t enjoy doing videos, so here i will attempt to translate my thoughts from the video into English.

First, if you consider yourself a follower of God, I assume that means you have submitted yourself to His rule over your life.

These rules are written in the Bible.

A Believer in God must then be ready to Obey Him!

In order to keep things "simple"

I would like to give you five quotes

From God on the subject of Israel.

#1) Genesis 12

God says to Abraham,

Get out of your country, from your family and from your fathers house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation:

I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing .

(Here is the good part!)

I will bless those who bless you,

And I will curse those who curse you; and in you ALL the families of the earth shall be blessed!

#2)

Zachariah 2:8

For this is what the Lord of hosts says,

He has sent me on a glorious mission to the nations that plundered you, and this is what he says, anyone who touches you touches the apple of my eye!

Who doesn't know what a l

Tiny speck of dust in your eye feels like?

God is very pained when nations and individuals come against Israel and its people.

Isaiah 62:6-7

On your walls O Jerusalem ,

I have set Watchmen; (Notzrim in hebrew)

All the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest, and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth.

It is interesting to note that in hebrew the word used for watchmen is Notzrim, in todays hebrew Christians are known in hebrew as notzrim!

#3)

Psalm 122:6

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem

May those who love you be secure! Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!

For the sake of my brothers and friends , I will say Peace be within you!

This is Gods heart for the body,

Lift up this nation and these people!

Not to the exclusion of others,

But God is naming Jerusalem and telling us to Pray!!

Here we have a undeniable command, it says

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem"

It doesn't t say

If you want to, or if you remember to.

Actually, Psalm 137:5 says:

If I forget you O Jerusalem , may my right hand be crippled!

In the New testament,

Luke 13:35

Behold, your temple is forsaken,

And I tell you, you shall not see me again until you say

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

Who is Yeshua talking to?

The people whose temple has been forsaken even til today!

What is he saying to them?

If you want me to come back you must say,

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

There are other verses on this topic in the Bible,

But I just wanted to let the Church know that it is of vital importance to God that you Pray for Israel and Jerusalem!

Day and night! You have been appointed as watchmen!

So please pray that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Yeshua hu Adon! Jesus He is Lord!
